Pampered

I have always wondered about this question since I was a child. Why do elders, like our parents, always love to give us this sort of quote: "You're so pampered."?? How do we know whether we are pampered?? For all I know during my childhood, I wasn't pampered. For one, I always had to work to get what I want, and sometimes I won't get what I want. But as I got older, I finally realized what they meant by "being pampered". I've listed a few questions based on the olden-day stories that my elders have told me, and also based on my experience to determine (more or less) whether I'm actually being pampered. The list of questions (not in order) are as follows:

1. Do I have a roof over my head? - Yes

2. Do I have food on the table every single day? - Yes

3. Do I have my own room? - Yes

4. Do I have to slot hard just to live? - No

5. Do I have allowance every day? - Yes

6. Do I have my future secured? - Yes

7. Do I have to fork up my own money to pay bills? - No

8. Do I even have to pay bills? - No

9. Do I have to worry about my living state? - No

10. Do I have to take living responsibilities? - No

11. Do I usually get what I want? - Yes

From the list of questions above, it's been concluded that I'm TOTALLY PAMPERED, because I NEVER had to take the responsibilities which my parents are actually taking. In fact, my parents bought a FREAKIN' huge condo for me so that I don't have to stay in a hostel. Not only that, they're even buying me a car so that I don't have to endanger myself everyday with public transports. They even give me an allowance of a few hundred bucks PER-WEEK so that I don't have to suffer here in the Big City. And for me to get these sort of luxury, my father had to be away from my family to get a higher-paying job, while my mum had to go back to the working world as a teacher. I feel so blessed, at the same time guilty. That is why, I am determined to repay them by studying hard and earning myself a high-paying career. :)

  So.... Are you being pampered?

Back In The Big City

Well, I'm now back in the Big City, because my semester will be starting soon... I actually came back yesterday afternoon with my family, but I didn't update then because I had A TON of stuff to do. :P So, pardon me for updating late. :)

Yesterday, my family and I went to my college to settle my current semester fees and also to inquire about my brother's options... :S You see, my brother has just finished his SPM, but his result wasn't ALL THAT impressive. :\ Therefore, my family and I decided to take other "alternatives" so that my brother can continue his studies. In the beginning, the student counselor said that there's NO WAY that he can go for a Diploma because he's short of ONE grade. But then, because he was opting for Mass Comm just like me, and a little bit of "twitching" and risk taking, they've agreed to let my brother in.... But at the same time, he MUST retake ONE subject in his SPM to pass the requirement, or else NO DIPLOMA CERT WILL BE GIVEN TO HIM! *big sigh*

Well.... That's my brother, and in the end, he's the only one who can make the decision whether to wait for the Form 6 (Pre-U) offer letter or slot his way up~~ :S

After that, we went to see my car in Perodua. My cousin's friend found a 2007 Kelisa for me. The car was AWESOME!!! That is..... Until we found out that there's something wrong with the engine... :( Ugh.... You know? I'm tired of waiting for my car.... I've already reached that point where I don't care whether I have my own car or whatever.... *sigh*

At night, my mum suddenly told me and my brothers that my uncle actually invited us for his family's (mainly his niece's) wedding dinner. At first,we were like "WTF?? We don't even know them!". But then, we went anyways to just see what this particular dinner would look like. And I must say, I loved it! The bride was so PRETTY!!! And she's soooooo friendly and pleasant. When she met my family and I, she treated us like we're already her friends or something, while actually we only met her for the first time! :D The dinner overall was FABULOUS as well! Typical Chinese wedding dinner, but the food was totally AWESOME!

 The bride and groom

The place where the wedding dinner is

My mum :)

My uncle singing for the bride and groom :D

During the dinner, my mum, my cousin and I suddenly sparked up the conversation about marriages. Because I'm a mix, so during my wedding, I have to have TWO types of ceremonies. One Filipino, and one Chinese. Plus, my boyfriend's Indian. And IF we EVER GET MARRIED, there's his side of the ceremony as well! I was like, "Oh my God! My wedding is going to be VERY long!". xD

Well... That was last night. Today, we went to Sunway Pyramid for some "Asian Avenue" clothes shopping. There were so many cute and cheap outfits, but they didn't really appeal to me.. :\ I only bought a cool red bag and a cardigan, while my mum bought a brown long-sleeved blouse. After that, we went to Subway for lunch, and then we stopped by at Juice Corner for some "healthy" drinks before we headed home. :P

LOL.... I swear my mum's turning into a camwhore! xD

*sigh* However.... They just left not long ago... And now I'm all alone again... I really do miss my family, but what to do?? I have got to be independent! x) Never mind.... I still get to go back to my hometown during weekends! :D I'll be looking forward to that every single time! x)

Facebook - God Wants You To Know

As we all know, Facebook has A WHOLE VARIETY of apps, from games to match-making to astrology and what's not. Well, some of the apps, in my opinion, just suck and these kind of apps just waste my time (eg. Luck Today). But then, there's this ONE particular app that I've always been fond of using it. It's called "God Wants You To Know".

Not that I'm being all religious or anything. It's just that, this particular app actually shows really good advices about life. Like for today, I clicked on the app. The advice is like, totally true! It goes:

On this day, God wants you to know...:

"that work begins when you don't like what you are doing. Little children can do the most amazing things with such joy and fun. You were little once too, and knew how to turn everything into a game. So, turn your work into a game, and you will find joy and satisfaction in it. What are some ways you can start being playful with work?"

Ain't it nice??? ;) I seriously recommend this app for people who just want to look for random advices (like moi... :P) on their spare time, just so that we can learn a little bit more about life. Truthfully speaking, the advices are not really God related. They're more like how to live a peaceful and less-stressed up life. :)

So... What does "GOD" want you to know today??? ;)

Short Update - Fate

Have you ever experienced receiving a text message from a loved one (example boyfriend), but at the same time you just sent a text message to that person? If you have, how many times?

For me, I have, and it actually happened not long ago... And to make it MORE interesting, it WASN'T the first time! So now it comes to my next question: Is this what people call FATE???

  :P

p/s: I just found out that my posts are getting shorter.... Is it a good sign??? :S

Gloomy Rantsterz.....

*sigh* I feel so drifted away today... Being back home has gotten me to think more, not about my course of whatever, but more about what I want to do and my future.

"Am I falling out again?" - I've been asking myself this question for a while now. And I seriously hate myself for it. I'm such a b****!!! Why do I always fall out so easily?! Can someone please slap me out of it??

*sigh* Maybe it's this darn gloomy weather that's making me feel like this. But in a way, I'm kinda relieved because IT FINALLY RAINED!!! LOL... I'm so contradicting myself...

Owh Kays! I've gotta stop ranting now or else I'm gonna get beaten up! :P Ngeks! Bye!

Blackie Black Black... HOTNESS!!

LOL.... I seriously have a mental problem... Today is so GAWDAMNIT hot, and I'm wearing BLACK. Not only that, to add on the "blackness", my laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse, and also my headphones are BLACK. Hahaha... Lucky that my room is PINK, or less I think I'll BURN OUT OF HOTNESS!!! ><

But seriously, why is it that it's not that hot in the Big City, while over here (my hometown) is like BURNING!!! ><

*sigh* I NEED TO COOL OFF!!!

Cuteness

Seriously, I cannot get over this picture of my niece! How can one resist such cuteness??

Or this picture of my little cousin??

I totally cannot stop smiling away when I saw these pictures! One of the reasons why I like to come back to my hometown (well, minus the stoning). :)

Bordie Bored Bored

These few days.... I wanted to update, but I seriously couldn't find any topic to "rant" about... I've been stoning over here in my hometown for exactly 5 days now...

Before I went to the Big City, I used to be comfortable living in my small hometown. For one, small towns are convenient to get stuffs. Not to mention, small towns are very quiet, in a way, very relaxing. But after opening my sights a lot more through my stay in the Big City, I'm starting to get bored very easily in my small hometown. I think one of the reasons is because, I'm a young adult. & I'm just looking for something fun to do to kill time. Small towns are mainly kind of sleepy... That's exactly what I've been doing most of the time all the while I'm back over here.... Lucky my bestie is also a person who cannot stay in a quiet place for long, so we've decided to make a random road trip to another small town about half an hour drive away to check out a lake! xD However, we ended up getting lost in the middle of the freeway! LOLz~~ How crazy is that! xD But at least we got to do SOMETHING! xD

Well... Other than that, nothing much over here.... *sighs* *sleep*

Is Money Important In A Relationship?

"Is money important in a relationship?" - I have been pondering with this question for a while now. It's all thanks to my mother who brought up the topic. :S

I'm not blaming my mum for being factual as usual, but in a way, she's a tinnie bit right in this. From what I got from her, money actually does get involved in relationships, especially long terms. I mean, there will be house mortgages, car loans, bills, bills and more bills.... ><

But lets just say, that person doesn't want a HUGE house, or a HUGE car, or an LV bag... He/she just wants a simple, happy life, without much of material stuff. Would money be important then?

Then again.... In order to keep a relationship alive, there is a thing called phone. And with phones come phone bills....

LOL, then again... This is just a random question. I'll let you guys be the judge of it. :)

Clearing Things Up

I'm posting this entry to clear things up. For those who have been doubting about my "relationship" status, I'm here to CONFIRM that I DO have a BOYFRIEND. And YES, my boyfriend is an INDIAN. I mean, what is wrong with having an Indian boyfriend? As you all may (or may not) know, I'm also a MIX. I am NOT a full CHINESE, because my mum is a FILIPINO. Why do most people have this "perception" towards Indians? Do you know that most of them are actually NOT as what you think of them? This seriously makes me MAD~~ I'm so sorry to say this, but you guys are just plain RACIST!

I mean, COME ON! You guys have "perceptions" towards Filipinos as well. Don't you dare say "no", because as I was growing up, I've faced this issue so frequently, my mum doesn't know most of them. I have had people coming up to my face saying "I think you're dad married your mum because she used to be his maid." WHAT THE F**K?!!! Just because my mother's Filipino, they have GOT TO PRESUME that she's a MAID?? How PEA-BRAINED can these people be? I even had people laughing behind my back when I was a kid just because I'm a mix of Filipino. They PRESUMED that my mum married my dad because of his MONEY. I mean, how out-dated can these JACKASSES be? Hello!! This is the 21-century, keep up!

And I won't deny that I have heard A WHOLE LOT of "stuffs" about Indians, like "they're actually very barbaric" and "they're actually very violent" to say a few. But for your information, my boyfriend is SO not like that! He is actually very civilized and educated. Heck, he's even smarter and more civilized than me! He's well-mannered (he even calls my mum "ma'am". I mean, how many guys still have this sort of mannerism??) and he's actually WAAAAAAY more patient than me! In fact, sometimes I wonder how can he stand me when my own mum can't even handle me? He NEVER hits girls, mainly because he's the ONLY son in the family with 5 sisters. And he's NOT AN ALCOHOLIC, because if he were to be one, I would've known LONG AGO whenever we go for "drinks" with his friends.

Plus, for your information, he's NOT 100 PERCENT Indian. He's also a mix just like me. In a way, we're actually a "One-World" sort of couple. And I'm proud to say, that I'm in that category. Do you know that interracial marriages are actually increasing? And for 2 people in total different categories i.e. skin color to be a couple is actually a total bonus because IT IS RARE and UNIQUE! And do you know that babies born with mixed race parents are actually WAAAAAAYY smarter and cuter at the same time?

In a nutshell, I would just like to point out that no matter what race you are, what skin color you have, Love is a universal language. It doesn't see skin tone or race, because Love itself is in each and every one of us. :)

Faithfully - Lyrics

Highway run into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You're on my mind
Restless hearts sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love along the wire
They say that the road
ain't no place to start a family
Right down the line it's been you and me
And loving a music man
ain't always what it's supposed to be

Girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Circus life under the big top world
We all need the clowns to make us laugh
Through space and time
Always another show
Wodering where I am lost without you
And being a part ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you

Oh girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh
faithfully
I'm still yours
I'm forever yours
Ever yours
faithfully

Faithfully

I was watching Glee videos on Youtube as usual today (well, Glee makes me happy. ^^), and I stumbled upon this particular song from Journey which is called "Faithfully". It was sung during the final episode of season 1 by Finn and Rachel.

While I was listening to the lyrics of this song, my boyfriend just suddenly popped into my head. And somehow... I realized how much I love him. I'm not just having those "puppy love" feelings anymore. I can literally see myself with him in the future. Us getting married, having kids, living a happy and loving suburban life. Something like the ladies in "Desperate Housewives" (minus the drama). And heck, I never EVER cried for a guy before (well, minus my ex who passed away four years ago) until him. He brings out the best (and also the worst) in me. He's the first in my list whenever I'm in need of help, and he's always there for me when I needed to let off some "insanity" of life. He knows that I would usually keep all the pain and darkness to myself, but somehow, he'll find one way or another to let me open up to him.

Not only that, I also totally admire his patience, because I'm actually well-known in my circle of friends and family for being the one "hard to control". Somehow, he managed to change me. And I'm not only saying that because he's my boyfriend. My friends and family actually saw the changes in me this year. I'm no longer easily angry, cruel and rude. In a way, I'm still the strong-headed Stephanie, but taking out the bad side of me, like a total bully etc.. He makes me trow away all the negativity of myself, and replace them with all his knowledge of positivity. Sometimes, I get really intimidated with his guts. But then, without him, I won't be who I am today. :) Therefore, I feel totally blessed to have him, and I feel at bliss because he chose to bring me into his life. :)

And now, I wanna dedicate this song to him. To show how much he means to me. :) I love you Dinesh Nyanachendram, more than you'll ever know. <3

  "I'm forever yours..... FAITHFULLY..." <3

Some questions like "If you could go back through time, would you do it?" and "If you could relive xxx day, would you?" really made me think hard and long. Because, in a way, part of me wanted to, but at the same time, I'll be looking at my present self. Then I would rethink again. In a way, I'm able to find a tiny piece of my self-actualization through these quizzes. I don't know about you guys, because as I have mentioned it before (or maybe not... :\), every one of us are different. We'll have our own opinions in everything that we do. So, what do you guys think of online quizzes? :)
