I am so sorry because I've been so damn busy lately with a lot of stuff. I have a dance presentation on the 25th of April, which is next week, piano lessons, vocal singing lessons and a sub-tutor job...
Life's been very hectic and frustrating since my "homecoming" from PLKN, especially my future study plans. I'm very torn up right now between choosing to study in Form 6 or to study in a university. Although, I have to say I have applied for EVERYTHING that I can think of, and I had many college and university offers too. My parents suggested that I continue my studies in Form 6 since I still cannot make up my mind in which course I want to pursue in. Besides that, they also said that it's better to go to Form 6 because I will have a higher qualification when I enter a university to take my Degree. They also said that going to Form 6 is much safer and cheaper because I can save money for tution fees and I can continue my dance class, my piano class and my vocal singing class in my hometown. They said that if I continue straight into a university, chances are that I have to give up everything that I love, including singing, dancing and paino lessons. Moreover, I have to pay a very high price just for a tuiton for one subject.
However, my friends said a different story. (Reminder: These friends of mine are/were Form 6 leavers and they ended up having to start all over again when studying in a college/university.) They said that Form 6 is a living HELL... Teachers will just go into the class and basically "sleep". The "teachers" that are teaching them are the projectors and the radio. Besides that, tution doen't help much because although the teacher do teach, they'll just give half the info they know, because Form 6 teachers are not really pros in their own job, unlike Form 1 to 5. They said that it is also a sacrifice ritual in order to get that 2.5 point, which is the passing mark in STPM. That's because 1: the Form 6 textbooks alone are as thick as dictionaries, 2: no proper teacher to teach, and 3: have to self-study ALL the time!!! So, it's still a goodbye to my piano class, vocal singing class and dance class. They said that at least in university/college, they have these art programmes (Note that "art" does not cover up the drawing part only) such as acting, singing, dancing for all the students there. Unfortunately, it will cost a fortune to go to these programmes. But, there will be a higher chance to go abroad compared to those who go Form 6.... Well, at least that was what they said. Moreover, they said that if you fail your STPM, you'll be totally lost. That's because one of my friend's brother is one of them unlucky ones.
My mum said that everything has its pro and cons. However, she still insisted that I stick to Form 6 because 1: can save money, 2: can get a higher qualification, and 3: can still go and study abroad privately if I failed STPM. All my life I just wanted to go and have experience in one particular country- America. I have a cousin who is married and is living in Colorado now, and I have a few freinds who are from the US too. The country and their culture sounded very interesting.
So, right now... I don't know already..... Haiz....
Till then...
Signing off,
~Steph~

if u can go straight to uni/for a degree, i think u should. why wait? think u can have better options while in college rather than still in uniforms at some schools.
ReplyDeleteNot that I don't want to. But my parents won't let me~~
