Pampered

I have always wondered about this question since I was a child. Why do elders, like our parents, always love to give us this sort of quote: "You're so pampered."?? How do we know whether we are pampered?? For all I know during my childhood, I wasn't pampered. For one, I always had to work to get what I want, and sometimes I won't get what I want. But as I got older, I finally realized what they meant by "being pampered". I've listed a few questions based on the olden-day stories that my elders have told me, and also based on my experience to determine (more or less) whether I'm actually being pampered. The list of questions (not in order) are as follows:

1. Do I have a roof over my head? - Yes

2. Do I have food on the table every single day? - Yes

3. Do I have my own room? - Yes

4. Do I have to slot hard just to live? - No

5. Do I have allowance every day? - Yes

6. Do I have my future secured? - Yes

7. Do I have to fork up my own money to pay bills? - No

8. Do I even have to pay bills? - No

9. Do I have to worry about my living state? - No

10. Do I have to take living responsibilities? - No

11. Do I usually get what I want? - Yes

From the list of questions above, it's been concluded that I'm TOTALLY PAMPERED, because I NEVER had to take the responsibilities which my parents are actually taking. In fact, my parents bought a FREAKIN' huge condo for me so that I don't have to stay in a hostel. Not only that, they're even buying me a car so that I don't have to endanger myself everyday with public transports. They even give me an allowance of a few hundred bucks PER-WEEK so that I don't have to suffer here in the Big City. And for me to get these sort of luxury, my father had to be away from my family to get a higher-paying job, while my mum had to go back to the working world as a teacher. I feel so blessed, at the same time guilty. That is why, I am determined to repay them by studying hard and earning myself a high-paying career. :)

  So.... Are you being pampered?

Back In The Big City

Well, I'm now back in the Big City, because my semester will be starting soon... I actually came back yesterday afternoon with my family, but I didn't update then because I had A TON of stuff to do. :P So, pardon me for updating late. :)

Yesterday, my family and I went to my college to settle my current semester fees and also to inquire about my brother's options... :S You see, my brother has just finished his SPM, but his result wasn't ALL THAT impressive. :\ Therefore, my family and I decided to take other "alternatives" so that my brother can continue his studies. In the beginning, the student counselor said that there's NO WAY that he can go for a Diploma because he's short of ONE grade. But then, because he was opting for Mass Comm just like me, and a little bit of "twitching" and risk taking, they've agreed to let my brother in.... But at the same time, he MUST retake ONE subject in his SPM to pass the requirement, or else NO DIPLOMA CERT WILL BE GIVEN TO HIM! *big sigh*

Well.... That's my brother, and in the end, he's the only one who can make the decision whether to wait for the Form 6 (Pre-U) offer letter or slot his way up~~ :S

After that, we went to see my car in Perodua. My cousin's friend found a 2007 Kelisa for me. The car was AWESOME!!! That is..... Until we found out that there's something wrong with the engine... :( Ugh.... You know? I'm tired of waiting for my car.... I've already reached that point where I don't care whether I have my own car or whatever.... *sigh*

At night, my mum suddenly told me and my brothers that my uncle actually invited us for his family's (mainly his niece's) wedding dinner. At first,we were like "WTF?? We don't even know them!". But then, we went anyways to just see what this particular dinner would look like. And I must say, I loved it! The bride was so PRETTY!!! And she's soooooo friendly and pleasant. When she met my family and I, she treated us like we're already her friends or something, while actually we only met her for the first time! :D The dinner overall was FABULOUS as well! Typical Chinese wedding dinner, but the food was totally AWESOME!

During the dinner, my mum, my cousin and I suddenly sparked up the conversation about marriages. Because I'm a mix, so during my wedding, I have to have TWO types of ceremonies. One Filipino, and one Chinese. Plus, my boyfriend's Indian. And IF we EVER GET MARRIED, there's his side of the ceremony as well! I was like, "Oh my God! My wedding is going to be VERY long!". xD

Well... That was last night. Today, we went to Sunway Pyramid for some "Asian Avenue" clothes shopping. There were so many cute and cheap outfits, but they didn't really appeal to me.. :\ I only bought a cool red bag and a cardigan, while my mum bought a brown long-sleeved blouse. After that, we went to Subway for lunch, and then we stopped by at Juice Corner for some "healthy" drinks before we headed home. :P

LOL.... I swear my mum's turning into a camwhore! xD

*sigh* However.... They just left not long ago... And now I'm all alone again... I really do miss my family, but what to do?? I have got to be independent! x) Never mind.... I still get to go back to my hometown during weekends! :D I'll be looking forward to that every single time! x)
